A man in Delta has been arrested by the police after it was alleged that he had sold his baby girl to ritualists.
Christopher David, a carpenter in the Warri community, is said to have traded his 5 month old daughter for N200,000.
The matter was reported to the police by the child’s mother, Florence, who said that her husband had given her a share of the money.

LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered that sometime in October 2013, one Florence David his wife, gave birth to a baby girl, but the suspect hoodwinked her and handed the baby over to a woman identified as Grace (surname withheld) with the intention of taking care of her as a result of his poor condition of living.
DSP Celestina Kalu, Police spokesperson in the state, confirmed that the suspect is currently cooling off at the police cell in the state CID and would be charged to court
upon completion of investigation. He added that investigation was still ongoing.
According to the mother of the victim and wife of the suspect who reported the matter to the police, the said Grace later sold the baby for N200,000 to a lady suspected to be a ritualist operating in Lagos in conspiracy with the husband.
She told the police that her husband one day came to her and gave her part of the money, disclosing that he had sold their baby.
