President Jonathan Appoints Justice Kutigi As Chairman of upcoming National Conference


President Jonathan has appointed former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Honourable Justice Idris Lebo Kutigi as Chairman of the much-debated National Conference.
The president had revealed during his presidential media chat on 24th February 2014 that the main officials of the conference — the chairman, the deputy chairman and the secretary — would be announced by 3rd March 2014, while administrative official for the conference would be announced thereafter.
Assisting Kutigi is Professor Bolaji Akinyemi as Vice Chairman, and Dr. (Mrs.) Valerie Azinge as Secretary.
“His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR), president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has approved the appointment of the leadership of the National Conference”, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim wrote in an announcement.

“The appointees are to resume at Abuja on Wednesday, 5th March 2014, and would be received on arrival by the secretary to the government of the federation.”
