Relating to previous study, many people think because of the fact that sitting down all day robs you of opportunities to exercise which isn’t a good idea but a new study has overshadowed this belief making it known that aside from the dangers of not exercising, much more evils can be done to the body when it is allowed to sit all day in one place, disallowing it the pains of moving and stretching.
The compilation of many other studies which included administering questionnaires to know how many old people went about their lives when they were young, the amount of time they spent watching television and so on was conducted on over 4 million participants who reacted to the experimental study with various ailments ranging from an increased risk of cancer, to many heart diseases and diabetes, later in life.
This same method was used in confirming this new study which revealed that excessive sitting down can
cause Womb Lining Cancer (Endometrial Cancer) in women and also bowel and lung cancer. These risks are said to be raised by 6 to 8 percent every two hours of sitting down, making an average lifespan to be reduced by five years. These risks are said to be interconnected with that of the effects of watching television for a long time and also eating of fast foods, drinking sodas and sugary beverages.
However, the study has concluded that the more time we spend sitting
down (be it in a wheelchair, on a desk chair in front of the computer or
on a sofa in front of the TV), the higher the risk of developing one of
these three types of cancer mentioned above.
Providing solid proof, One of the doctors who is a co-author of this recently published study, Dr. Daniela Schmidt, clearly explained how the cancer risk is related to sedentary behaviors to the medical community so that many can watch how sitting down can dramatically rob them of their precious lives.
