Google's Self-Driving Cars Covered 300,000 Miles Without A Single Accident Under Computer Control

Automated cars aren’t special novelty and everyone agrees that this is the future. The very near future. In 2010. 4 electric vans with no drivers travelled from Parma, Italy, to the Shanghai, taking part in the VisLab Intercontinental Autonomous Challenge. This was a ride with distance of more than 8000 miles. In fact, it is legal to use vehicles without drivers in the states of Florida, Nevada and California. But in the driver’s seat there must be sitting a human, who will start driving if something happens.

Nissan announced that a self-driving prototype could be offered to sell in 2015, while Ford, Toyota, BMW
and GM are conducting tests with models of the similar kind. You could say that the technology is already invented, but still needed a lot of cash resources to produce these cars.
